Enterprise social media: a study from digital natives’ perspective

Abstract This study aims to ascertain digital natives’ perceptions regarding internal social media (ISM) use in corporate contexts. Consulting company surveys, although limited as scientific evidence, revealed that natives would, if they had choice, quit their jobs the next two years, showing engaging them is already a challenge. However, there gap literature workplace behaviors remain unexamined, singling out this unique assessment of with exposure and its practices. An exploratory was performed by applying content analysis semi-structured interviews recently employed natives. The findings suggest lifespan aspect may impact how technologies are used for communication organizational contexts; believe participatory culture created on systems impose high level contribution within company. They recognize adverse effects ISM but consider advantages predominate, indicating an optimistic view. Whereas (IC) has been explored multiple contexts, few studies address influence organizations. As such, contributes IC more granular understanding enterprise media’s role from perspective most current workforce. It also pragmatic field proposing organizations can take advantage ambiguos tending positive perception leverage promote employee engagement.
